January 2006
"Cream liqueur production in North East flourishing" -
Smith
Mr. Brendan Smith TD, Minister of State with responsibility for
Food at the Department of Agriculture and Food last week visited
Terra Limited, Bailieboro, Co. Cavan to view the spirits and cream
liqueur production and bottling facilities and to acquaint himself
with the Company's development plans.
Paying tribute to the Company, Minister Smith noted that Terra
Limited was set up in 1995 following the management buy-out of the
former R&J Emmet's manufacturing plant.
Since then Terra has seized the opportunity to capitalise on the
growth in the cream liqueur category worldwide and began producing
its own range of cream liqueurs as well as developing the ability
to supply own label customers.
At the conclusion of the visit Minister Smith said that the success
of the Company is down to teamwork, with employees and suppliers
playing a vital role in the development of the Company.
"The Company's growth could not have been achieved without
the foresight of the management team and the dedication and commitment
of its staff, suppliers and customers."
